Modelling and Management of Project Portfolio

This thesis is dedicated to modeling and management of project portfolio. In the first part, project is specified, along with methods for its managing. Next part describes the project portfolio, its managing and aspects that affect it. Thesis continues with analysis and design of software prototype capable of managing project portfolios.  Most suitable methods are selected for project analysis.  Designed prototype is then implemented and solution is described in the thesis. Last part of the work is user testing, which pointed out the functionality and usability of created prototype.

The bachelor thesis deals with a proposal that has the task of streamlining the display of business processes and better explaining the way of managing a portfolio of projects in a given company. Primary task is to introduce and implement solutions in the form of process models that depict project management in the information technology portfolio, but also a description of the course of this implementation at Garrett Advancing Motion. At the beginning of the thesis, the theoretical foundations of project management and process modeling are described. Based on this theory, the company is then analyzed, the solution itself is designed with implementation and overall evaluation.

The thesis is dedicated to the problematics of increasing the level of project management through a project that is focused on displaying and tracking available project data in a report. In the first of the three main parts it depicts the theoretical knowledge tied to the problematics and in the second it describes and analysis the company at which the project was implemented. This part also delineates the processes in the firm and explains facts that had to be considered. The last part of the thesis contains analysis which were important for successful implementation of the project and describes the actual implementation.
Human Resources Management Support System in Projects

This thesis suggests implementation of human resources management system to manage project portfolio in small organizations. Main gist is implementation and demonstration of the system, that is able to assign human resources to planned projects. The thesis also provides basic theory of projects and human resources management in projects. Based on this theory the system is analysed, designed and implemented.

Master's thesis deals with Petri nets application in domain of information systems project planning. The design describes the basic concepts of project and portfolio management, standards and methodologies. Is introduced the concept of project, portfolio and resource modelling through Object-oriented Petri Nets. Then schedulling is implemented and tested. Finally, the extensions are discussed.

The aim of this thesis is to design and realize an application for the management of project opportunities for the specific needs of IBM Czech Republic. The work presents the basic methods and approaches for particular time and financial planning. The application is developed in C++ using the Qt framework from Nokia. The tool uses the SQLite relational database.
